Jake Oken-Berg brings over 25 years of political and policy experience to the Summit Strategies team including positions with United States Senators Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden working on issues from transportation to economic development to appropriations and energy. As Vice President at Summit, Jake has worked with numerous clients to secure significant appropriations and policy wins.
Previously, Jake was senior business advisor for Senator Jeff Merkley serving as the Senator’s liaison to the business community with a wide portfolio including trade, economic development, appropriations, manufacturing, transportation, energy, health care, defense, and agriculture.
Jake started his career at the Oregon Business Council and helped launch the Oregon Business Plan, bringing together business, government, and nonprofit leaders on a shared agenda for creating jobs, raising incomes, and reducing poverty. Following that effort, Jake served as special assistant to Senator Ron Wyden, coordinating the Senator’s outreach to business and industry.
Jake received his Bachelor of Arts in Politics from Pomona College in Claremont, CA. He enjoys running, hiking, skiing, and taking care of his rescue dog with his wife Maggie.
